These are such powerful times in the world.
Many of us feel an assault on our values and something like horror with each news cycle. Many forces seem to be working against our collective humanity. There is so much fear and hopelessness in our shared field of consciousness.
YET
Those of us on a Life Path, whether we call it a spiritual path, a path of self-actualization or simply a path of being the best person I can be, approach EVERY condition as our next opportunity and sometimes, our next challenge.
Without hyperbole, I believe that there are forces of darkness seeking to control humanity. Whether it is the authoritarian impulses in the world, the radical, controlling influence of technology on our children’s brains or the potentially anti- life influences of AI, our collective consciousness requires us to step up for Life.
It is people like us who have the privilege to learn ways of working with our minds, bodies, brains and spirits that can rise above this negativity and who can create a positive change.
Forces of negativity want us to live in:
– Fear – This is their main form of control,
– Hopelessness – Resigning our will-forces,
– Division – Negative power seeks to make enemies by “othering”.
Don’t allow these forces to control your: minds, interactions and conversations! (Of course, sometimes we need to yell and give voice to our rage and fear. Just don’t live there! When we dwell in these holes, we are surrendering our deeper humanity.
In times like these, we lose confidence in the soft power of standing firm in our moral impulses while practicing respectful listening, understanding the fear living in others and saying “no” without hatred. Standing upright in our values, with courage, does not require meanness. We are being asked to find our strength, our confidence, even our humor, without becoming weak-willed.
When fear takes control of the True “I”, we must remember that Love is stronger than hate. Skeptical inner voices will say: “that sounds nice but this is the real world – ‘Might really does make Right’and your nice words won’t work when ‘they’ have guns”.
YET
There is a potency that does not rely on hatred, othering or seeing enemies. We are being challenged to be our best selves. We are being challenged to be co-creators of our inner states, to be responsible for our own brains. To face the awfulness without cowering, resigning or surrendering our basic goodness. This is hard work! This is why we practice. This is why we need each other.
